Small steps to start losing weight

If 3 years ago you were to ask me: "what are some small steps I can take to start losing weight?" I would have answered 'Gosh, I don't know!'.  Fast forward I now  know what are some of the small steps you can take right now to start losing weight, even without dieting! 
With the strategies that I'm about to give you, I've been able to lose more than 40 pounds in just 6 months after 17 years of weight loss struggles, body image issues and mental health problems! 
Ok, we ready? Let's start! :)

Ok don't leave ahah I know this sounds super strange but it's true! Let me explain: whenever we try to cut calories our metabolism shrinks down, it simply slows down. Nutritionists and dieticians constantly tell us to shrink calories, to eat less than we burn, but it's false! It doesn't matter how many calories you've cut, your metabolism will slow down every. single. time. So if you're still wondering why we shouldn't cut calories if we want to lose weight let me explain 2 more things. So, #1 your metabolism is the thing in your body that burns calories and builds up molecules (proteins, body fat, muscles...) and so if your metabolism is slow, you'll directly burn less calories as the process is slower. So having a small metabolism is not the bets thing to do to lose weight. Plus, #2 whenever we focus on counting and cutting calories we're putting all of our energy into the LACK of something. Lack of food because we can't eat how much we want, lack of energy because we're tired as we've counted calories all day long, lack of commitment as we're tired of eating that little and we want to 'cheat' every single time. So give yourself a favor: stop counting or cutting calories once and for good and go to step #2!

A huge controversial thing people don't know about is their hormones. When we're trying to lose weight we're actually trying to rebalance our hormones as hormones are the key whether you'll put on body fat or lose body fat. The hormone that will dictate your weight loss or weight gain is insulin. Why? Because insulin is your fat storage hormone. That means insulin decides when and how you'll put on fat onto your body! Hormones are chemical messangers your body uses to communicate with other cells, body tissues and organs. When we eat carbs, such as pizza, pasta, bread, sugary drinks and more, our body converts those carbs into sugar molecules called glucose molecule. When glucose enters your body it goes into your bloodstream and when it's there, your pancreas releases insulin to take the glucose from the bloodstream and put it into the cells to convert it into energy.  Excess glucose will be stored into glycogen or body fat. So the actual reason of why you're gaining fat is because you're eating too many carbs! And people tell you it's because you eat too much, SIKE! 

One of the things that will DICTATE your weight loss is loving yourself. I don't know how many women I talk to daily that tells me they hate their bodies! That's insane! Why are we taught this? Why can't we simply love ourselves, wouldn't that be easier in all aspects of our life? Of course it would! The only reason we hate our bodies is because people in our life have told us that. Whether they are our parents, our mom, grandmother, uncle, or friend (or Billie from middle school!). So our perception of how we see ourselves is actually somebody else's fault! Are we serious? Know that, don't you feel much more relieved? So you actually have a choice, you actually can change your thoughts and perception about yourself! So start thinking you are beautiful, every single day go in front of the mirror and list out at least 5 things you love about yourself that day. Do this at least for 30 days and you'll be unrecongizable! 

I know it's hard to ask others for help, especially if you're struggling with something that's so personal as it's your weight loss. But it's important you ask for help because the thing is: you can do it yourself and struggle until you find the right way or you ask for help to someone who already made the mistakes and can teach you how to do it effortlessly and rapidly!
